Dear students,
The essay topic for the
final Language III exam on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 will be based
on The Namesake by
Jumpa Lahiri.
Please read
chapters 6 and 7. The essay topic will be on Gogol. When reading these
chapters, please focus on his attitude towards his family, his
family´s way of living, and his family cultural background before and after his
father passed away.
Don´t forget
to review your notes on comparison and/or contrast, on the outline layout, and on the
connectors you should use for the different modes of development. You should
also review our guidelines on introductory and concluding paragraphs.
Please
remember that this week (before May 17) we will not answer questions related to
the essay topic in office hours; we will not check your outlines or possible
outlines for possible theses statements.
