Dear students,

The essay topic for the final Language III exam on December 2nd, 2015 will be based on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. You should focus on the main character Montag. Please read the text very carefully and revise the notes on comparison and/or contrast and on cause-effect analysis. Don´t forget to review the outline layout and the connectors you should use for the different modes of development.

Warm regards,

Prof. A. Argerich

Dear students,

Emilce Daneri, our student assistant, will be coordinating review sessions to discuss Language III reading materials. Besides discussing the reading materials, she will review the essay writing notes we´ve posted on the blog. You may also agree with her to work on other needs you may have.

She will offer morning and afternoon sessions. In November these sessions will be on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 to 12 and from 17 to 19 in Room 32. She will let you know about December.

We hope you can take advantage of this further opportunity to be better prepared for the final exams.

Dear students,

We are contacting you to let you know that the make-up test (Thursday, November 5th at 10:00 am) will be an essay based on the novel The Namesake. As the essay topic will be about Ashima, we suggest that you read chapters 1, 2, 3, 7, and 12 very carefully. You will be asked to write the thesis statement, two or three developmental paragraphs, and the concluding sentence. You will not have to write introductory or concluding paragraphs. We will continue insisting on your following the conventions for the outline we discussed in class (thesis statement, topic senteces, supporting information expressed by means of noun phrases, etc.).

We have identified the students who were able meet the requirements to sit for the colloquia:
