Dear students,

We are contacting you to let you know that the make-up test (Thursday, November 5th at 10:00 am) will be an essay based on the novel The Namesake. As the essay topic will be about Ashima, we suggest that you read chapters 1, 2, 3, 7, and 12 very carefully. You will be asked to write the thesis statement, two or three developmental paragraphs, and the concluding sentence. You will not have to write introductory or concluding paragraphs. We will continue insisting on your following the conventions for the outline we discussed in class (thesis statement, topic senteces, supporting information expressed by means of noun phrases, etc.).

We have identified the students who were able meet the requirements to sit for the colloquia:

1.       Bezier, Florencia
2.       Cháves, Paula
3.       Hervas, Juan Manuel
4.       Martín, Sofía
5.       Mauad, Yamile
6.       Miranda Cibantos, Agustina
7.       Navarrete, Verónica
8.       Yerfino, Rocío

We have decided to give some students the possibility of sitting for the make-up test in order to get extra points to fulfil the requirements to pass the course without a final exam (“promover”). The students are:

1.       Alessandro, Antonio
2.       Andragnez, Enzo
3.       Astie, Sofía
4.       Bragagnolo, Constanza
5.       Giménez, Florencia
6.   Gori, Manuela
7.       Marinaci, Lucía
8.       Muscolini, Renzo
9.       Pandur, Karen
10.  Videla Muñoz, Pamela

For the colloquia (twenty-minute oral interviews) students have to prepare eight to ten-minute oral presentations and be ready to answer questions and to comment on the reading material from the second semester. The colloquia will be on Thursday, November 12th at 9:00; we will let you know where we´ll meet as soon as we are assigned the classrooms.

If you have any dobuts, please contact us in our office hours (see attachment if you don´t remember them).

Looking forward to our last class on Friday,

Amparo Argerich
