Dear students,  

The essay topic of the Language III final exam on Wednesday, September 26^th, 2018 will be based on the short story Labors of the Heart by Claire Davis, and on the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The essay will be based on the characters Pinky and Montag. The method of development you will be asked to use is comparison. You will be asked to compare Pinky and Montag bearing in mind their sudden awareness of themselves and of the surrounding world (these will be the two points of comparison of your essay). We suggest the “all about one and all about the other” method of organization. You will be allowed to have copies of the texts with you.

Please read the texts carefully. Don´t forget to review our notes on comparison and contrast, outline layout, and the connectors you should use for the different modes of development. You should also review our guidelines on introductory and concluding paragraphs.

Please remember that on Monday, September 24^th, and Tuesday, September 25^th we WILL NOT answer any questions related to the essay topic in office hours, nor will we check possible outlines.

If you have already enrolled, and decide not to take the exam, please send me an email through the blog or the virtual platform.
